This year's Gramophone Classical Music Awards - the winners and performances, captured in pictures

Barbara Hannigan receives the Artist of the Year Award, as well as accepting the Contemporary Music Award for the Bayerische Staatsoper's recording of Hans Abrahamsen's The Snow Queen

Tuesday October 4, saw the return of the in-person Gramophone Classical Music Awards. A night of music, speeches and celebration, looking back on a year of incredible recordings. Capturing the event was Telling Photography, a selection of whose photos are now available to view here. 

Performances from soprano and conductor Barbara Hannigan, mezzo Emily D'Angelo and pianists Leif Ove Andsnes and Bruce Liu came alongside presentations and speeches from baritone Ludovic Tézier and conductor John Wilson, with pianist Mitsuko Uchida, conductor of the Budapest Festival Orchestra Iván Fischer and violinist James Ehnes sending video tributes.

Editor-in-Chief James Jolly hosted the proceedings, which included sublime performances and accompaniment from the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain.
